Selection of stainless steel flange materials

The stainless steel flange has sufficient strength and should not deform when tightened. The sealing surface of the flange should be smooth and clean. When installing stainless steel flanges, it is necessary to carefully clean oil stains and rust spots. The gasket must have excellent oil resistance and aging resistance, as well as excellent elasticity and mechanical strength. Different cross sections and sizes of gaskets need to be selected based on the shape of the joint to correctly place the stainless steel flange of the equipment.

The tightening force of the stainless steel flange should be uniform, and the shrinkage rate of the rubber gasket should be controlled at around 1/3. In addition, in theory, stainless steel flanges are used according to traditional methods and principles. Stainless steel flanges ensure quality and service value, and are used and installed in accordance with normal operating standards.

Stainless steel flange manufacturers introduce the selection of materials: mainly used in the food industry and surgical equipment, with the addition of molybdenum to obtain a special corrosion-resistant structure. It is also used as “marine steel” because it has better chloride resistance than 304. SS316 is commonly used in nuclear fuel recovery equipment. Grade 18/10 stainless steel usually also meets this application level.

The connecting plate of this structure is made of carbon steel or stainless steel. When using carbon steel, the surface must be nickel plated, and the fixture material is cast aluminum ZL7. The sealing roughness of the connecting plate should be 20 and there should be no obvious radial grooves. Welding rings are used to save steel. In this structure, the sealing surface must be treated after welding the ring and pipe. It is usually used for suspensions with a working pressure of less than 2.5 MPa. Flat welding flanges with smooth surfaces are not suitable for equipment that is highly airtight to toxic and flammable explosive media due to poor connection rigidity and sealing performance.

Stainless steel flange manufacturers introduce their applications: Stainless steel flanges are widely used in petroleum, chemistry, nuclear power plants, food manufacturing, construction, shipbuilding, papermaking, medical and other industries. They are used differently in different industries and show value in different industries.
